Bernes-sur-Oise is a French commune with 2,708 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Val-d'Oise in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Pontoise and the Canton of L'Isle-Adam (until 2015: Canton of Beaumont-sur-Oise ). The inhabitants are called Bernois .
geography
Bernes-sur-Oise is located about 33 kilometers north of Paris on the north bank of the Oise on the border with the Oise department . Bernes-sur-Oise is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Morangles in the north, Bruyères-sur-Oise in the east, Beaumont-sur-Oise in the south, Persan in the southwest and Le Mesnil-Thelle in the west and northwest.
The airfield Persan-Beaumont is located in large part in the municipal area. Until 1967 the airfield was run as Air Force Base 218.
history
The place is mentioned for the first time in 797; 820 the place is named as Bagerna . In the 13th century there was a Knights Templar headquarters here until the order was dissolved by Philip the Fair.

Attractions
- Saint-Denis church, originally from the 13th century, completely destroyed by bombing in 1944, replaced by a modern church in 1951, interior from the 14th and 16th centuries
