Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône is a French commune in the department of Val-d'Oise in the region of Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Pontoise and is the capital of the canton of the same name . The residents call themselves Saint-Ouennais or Saint-Ouennaises .

The city of Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône with 23,741 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) is located north of Paris on the river Oise . Neighboring municipalities of Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône are Pontoise in the west, Auvers-sur-Oise in the north, Méry-sur-Oise in the east, Pierrelaye in the southeast, Herblay-sur-Seine in the south and Éragny in the southwest.

history

The place is on a Roman road from Lutetia ( Paris ) to Rotomagus (Rouen). It was named after Saint Ouen .

The city has a very high number of small and medium-sized businesses in its four industrial parks. The more than 700 companies take up 40% of the communal area. Grain is mainly loaded in the port of Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône.
