Pierrelaye is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Méry-sur-Oise in the north, Bessancourt in the northeast, Beauchamp in the east, Montigny-lès-Cormeilles in the southeast, Herblay-sur-Seine in the south and west and Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône in the north-west .

The A15 autoroute from Gennevilliers to Pontoise runs through the municipality .
