geography

Avernes is located about 30 kilometers northwest of Paris in the Vexin . Avernes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Guiry-en-Vexin in the north, Commeny and Gouzangrez in the northeast, Théméricourt in the east, Frémainville in the south, Lainville-en-Vexin in the southwest and Wy-dit-Joli-Village in the west and northwest.

The municipality is part of the Vexin français Regional Nature Park .

history

On January 1, 2018, the formerly independent municipality of Gadancourt joined the municipality of Avernes .
