St. Martin (Barbing)
St. Martin is a listed Roman Catholic parish church in Kirchstrasse 22/26 in the municipality of Barbing in the Regensburg district ( Bavaria ).
history
The church is a choir tower church with a sign . In 1733 the smaller Gothic previous church was replaced by a baroque nave with three window axes and an east tower with a domed roof. The east choir has been preserved from the previous church. In 1935/36 a 15 m long extension was added to the west to make space for the community that had grown. The originally west side entrance was moved to the south side. In 1978 the interior of the church was renovated.
Furnishing
Three wood-carved altars from the early 17th century have been preserved, the high altar with the tabernacle and the painting of the church patron St. Martin , the side altar on the south side with a sculpture of the scourged Jesus and the Marian altar on the north side.
organ
The first small organ was from 1846 and 1949 by a new organ with 14 registers of Eduard Hirnschrodt replaced, which was founded in 2007 in turn replaced by the current organ. This was built by the company Orgelbau Schädler from the nearby Donaustauf . It comprises 22 registers on two manuals and a pedal . The disposition is as follows:

Choir organ
The Hirnschodt organ has been preserved behind the high altar in a reduced form without a prospectus or pedals. It is played from a small gaming table in the first pew.
