St. Martin (Daumitsch)
The Protestant village church of St. Martin is in the Daumitsch district of the community of Grobengereuth in the administrative community of Oppurg in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .
history
In 1703 the nave was built on the foundation walls of the former late Gothic choir tower church. In 1893 the house received a flat ceiling .
In 1934 the church was burned down by lightning . Only the late Gothic cross could be saved. It hangs in the hall above the altar on the triumphal arch . The galleries are also back in the ship.
In 1934 the Poppe company from Schleiz installed the organ , which is currently defective.
The belfry in the church tower has two bells , one from 1934 and one from 1974.
The church tower was shortened in 1988 due to structural damage.
