St. Michael (mountains)
The Catholic parish church of St. Michael is a listed church building in Berge , a district of Anröchte in the Soest district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The parish is one of the oldest parishes in the Lippstadt area. The community was first mentioned as a parish in 1059. Around 1313 the house was called Capella .
The building stands on a cemetery surrounded by a dry stone wall. The three-bay , baroque hall church was built from quarry stone in the Renaissance style. The three-sided choir has moved in. The sacristy is to the east. The west tower is divided on two sides by windows, a kink helmet was put on it. The tower is marked 1737 in a chronogram , the nave and choir are marked 1750. Groin vaults were drawn into the interior , the painting dates from 1894. The church was also refurbished during this time.
Furnishing
- three altars built in neo-Gothic style and made of Baumberger sandstone
- The organ was built in 1845 by the organ builder Eggert. It is one of the few organs from this workshop that have been preserved in their original form.
Bells
On April 6, 1952, three cast steel bells of the Bochum Association were consecrated:
- I. Michael's bell / death knell, tone c sharp ', weight 1,570 kg.
- II. Agatha bell / fire bell, tone e ', weight 940 kg.
- III. Marienglocke, tone f sharp ', weight 620 kg
there is also a small bell for the clock strike.
