St. Pankratius (Wiggensbach)
St. Pankratius is the Catholic parish church in Wiggensbach in the Oberallgäu district .
History and description
The listed church consists of a hall with a short transept and a retracted choir and a northern saddle roof tower made of unplastered roll and quarry stone masonry. The tower is late Gothic . In the years 1770/71 an extension in the Rococo style with a nave was carried out by Johann Georg Specht .
The frescoes in the interior are by Franz Joseph Hermann and the stucco marble altars were built by Johann Georg Wirth .
The church is dedicated to St. Pancras . The high altar dates from 1773.
