The church

The Protestant village church of St. Pankratius is in Isseroda in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . The parish belongs to the parish association Niederzimmer in the parish of Weimar of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The church and cemetery are to the southeast of the village.

history

One in the Middle Ages existing church was rebuilt in 1749, which is also evident from the inscription on the west wall of the church above the door. There are tombs of the Byla landowners on the church wall.

As early as 1989, an interest group was founded in the village to preserve this church. In cooperation with the Bauhaus Weimar , a contract was formed and a concept for the use of the church, which had already been abandoned, was developed. In 2004 there was a cultural church project in Isseroda . In 2005 the church building and homeland association Isseroda was founded. In 2010 the church became a cultural church . The sound installation Everyday, developed by Falk Zenker , can be heard in the church since 2009 .

Furnishing

Inside there were two galleries , a master gallery as well as a pulpit altar and an organ . The equestrian figure of St. Pankratius is without comparison in the Weimar area.
