Location of Isseroda in Thuringia |
Isseroda is a district and seat of the rural community Grammetal in the west of the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia .
location
Isseroda is located between the Thuringian cities of Erfurt and Weimar, south of the busy federal highway 7 and north of the federal highway 4 . The district is located on the southern edge of the Thuringian Basin , but is still on fertile farmland. To the south, the hills and forests near Eichelborn and Troistedt limit the area.
history
Earlier names of the place were: Userenrode, Huserode and Usserode. The Larvenburg became the property of the city of Erfurt in 1397 . The Lauenburg manor was later built in its place . Only the late Gothic, extremely interesting gate entrance has survived. The "Lehngut Isseroda" was not affiliated with any office. With the Congress of Vienna in 1815, like the neighboring offices of Azmannsdorf and Tonndorf, it became part of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach ( Office Vieselbach ).
In Kastenholze southeast of Isseroda, the Weimar Duke Ernst August built a pleasure palace in the shape of a clover leaf. The expansion was not completed, but the materials were brought to Belvedere Palace for repairs.
On December 31, 2019 Isseroda merged with other communities to form the rural community of Grammetal. The Grammetal administrative community , to which all municipalities previously belonged, was dissolved at the same time.
