history

Based on a resolution of the Synod of Neuching from the year 771, the church was built, but only mentioned in a document 544 years later. St. Paul is mentioned in a diocesan description by Bishop Konrad von Freising together with the branches Thulbach, Pörndorf, Eckersdorf and Attenhausen, which belong to different parishes . Until 1867, St. Paul served as a branch church of the Gündlkofen parish , although the residents wanted the church to move to the Bruckberg parish earlier and thus no longer serve as a branch church. This goal was implemented by Dean Aumayr in 1867. Major structural damage to the church has occurred repeatedly since 1873. In a cost estimate from the royal district office from 1875, the demolition of St. Paul was not excluded. Pastor Genghammer, who came to Bruckberg in 1875, proved to be a friend of St. Paul and made sure that extensive repairs were carried out on the church in 1877 and 1878. Until 1946 there was always minor repair work. At the end of the 1950s the church was again in a very bad condition, whereupon a local history association for the preservation of St. Paul was founded under the direction of Josef Staudinger. The plans for a total renovation had been in progress since 1991 and was completed in 2004. Today services, baptisms and weddings take place in the church .
