St. Petri (Leubingen)
The village church of St. Petri is located in the Leubingen district of the city of Sömmerda in the Sömmerda district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Sömmerda in the parish of Eisleben-Sömmerda of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
The church, first documented in 1217, was the seat of an archpriest who looked after 17 churches in the area .
Building
The church tower is 50 meters high with a pointed helmet . The choir has an apse . In the room there is a winged altar that was made in the years 1420–1430. It represents a coronation of Mary. Saints flank it. The choir has a crypt . The late Gothic crucifix is located above the triumphal arch . There is a splendidly carved altar in the nave .
