history
According to available church documents, there was a church in the village as early as 1488 . At that time, the local mining was owned by the Counts of Stolberg . The previous building was mentioned in 1531. The church was built in 1604 as a single-nave hall church. The church tower is square and has a massive tower shaft made of rubble stones, a half-timbered tower and a tiled gable roof . The sacristy adjoins the nave to the east.
In 2007 the church tower was renovated; the roof was rebuilt in 2008/2009. Most recently, extensive work took place inside the church.
