The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Rochus is located in the Kaiserslautern district of Hohenecken .

history

After the Rochus Chapel , built in 1748, offered too little space, today's parish church St. Rochus was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1896/97 according to the plans of the architect Ludwig Becker from Cologne.

The chapel and the church together with the castle form the optical center of Hohenecken, a popular motif for painters and photographers.

The windows are decorated with colorful stained glass ; the carved high altar and the Marian altar in the side aisle blend harmoniously into the interior design of the church. The Way of the Cross was created in 1979 by a carver from Oberammergau . The ambo , carved from sandstone by the Picard company , was designed by the sculptor Richard Menges from Kaiserslautern. The furnishings include an Anna Selbdritt statuette from the 16th century.

A festschrift was published for the 100th anniversary in 1997.
