Description of the church

The church building stands on a field stone base and presents itself as an undivided brick building with a gable roof and a tower on the east side. As is typical of classicist buildings, the building has a clear design language. The longitudinal axis of the church is not oriented towards the east, as was the case especially in the Middle Ages. Instead, the altar and pulpit are located on the west side of the building. The entrance with portal and inscription plaque is on the east side. Above, just below the tower, is the church clock. The entrance to the sacristy is on the west wall. The long sides of the churches are dominated by large arched windows in the gallery . The bright interior, which is structured by the surrounding gallery, is also designed in a classicist manner. Since the renovation in 2008, it is back in the original condition designed by Hellner. On the west side, the gallery, which rests on Doric columns , is interrupted by a semicircular niche for the pulpit and altar . Originally today's church was equipped with a picture altar typical of Hellner. After the carved dating back to 1514, derived from the previous building and the school of medieval wood carver and painter Benedikt Dreyer , was rediscovered in the 1920s in the attic of the church is assigned, it was headed by the restorer Friedrich bogeyman rebuilt .
