The church

The Protestant village church of St. Walburga is located in the Wolperndorf district of the Nobitz community in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .

history

The late Gothic village church was first mentioned in a document in 1580. Their age is confirmed by the windows with double fillet framing.

The flat-lid pulpit dates from the 17th century.

The Löbel company from Lunzenau installed the organ in 1837 .

The large and medium-sized bell of bronze were in the Second World War melted and 1956 replaced by a new bell made of steel.

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary, the interior was completely renovated in 1980. The organ was renovated in 1991. The church tower was supplied with slate in 1991 and the button was gold-plated. In 2007 a new porphyry floor was added to the nave and the bench pedestals were renewed.
