The NStB - Melnik to Sazawa were steam locomotives of the Imperial and Royal Northern State Railways (NStB) of Austria-Hungary .

The eight locomotives were delivered by the Meyer locomotive factory in Mulhouse in 1844 and 1845. The NStB gave them the names MELNIK , KUTTENBERG , PLANIAN , BERAUN , ELBE , MOLDAU , KÖNIGSWART and SAZAWA as well as the company numbers 53-60.

They were modeled on the 2A locomotives by William Norris in Philadelphia , but already had horizontal cylinders.

In 1854, the NStB sold the KUTTENBERG and the ELBE to the kk Östliche Staatsbahn (ÖStB), which gave them the names BABIAGORA and ROHACZ and retired them in 1861.

In 1855 the Austro-Hungarian State Railway Company (StEG) took over the NStB. The received PLANIAN and MOLDAU the numbers 73 and 74. The remaining four machines that MELNIK that Beroun , the KING MAINT and Sazawa were the 1858 Theis track sold. There they were given the names SZOLNOK , KARCSAG , KIS-UJ-SZÁLLÁS and SZOBOSZLÓ . The Theissbahn decommissioned them in 1876 and 1877. The two StEG machines 73 and 74 were sold to the Waidhofen ironworks in 1864 .
