State-certified business manager

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

State-certified business economist is a higher commercial qualification . The degree is obtained by attending a two-year full-time (optionally three to four years part-time) visit at a technical academy or technical college for business after at least 2400 hours of teaching via a state examination . The examination tasks are created by the teachers at technical schools and require the approval of the responsible state authority in order to ensure a minimum standard. At the Bavarian technical academies, on the other hand, the examinations are created centrally by the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs .

Diploma

procedure

The professional development is divided into a basic business administration course, which comprises the first two semesters, and a focus course in the third and fourth semesters. In the specialization course, the student should also acquire well-founded specialist knowledge in a major subject of their choice, such as marketing, human resources, finance, IT or controlling.

At the end of the specialization course, a project work (also called business administration work ) is prepared. It consists of a written work, which is supplemented by a presentation with a colloquium . With this business management thesis, the technical students should show that they can analyze, structure and independently solve complex operational problems using the theoretical knowledge they have acquired and their practical experience. The technical students should prove that they have been introduced to scientific thinking and working methods in terms of key qualifications and are able to think and work across disciplines and to present work results appropriately. The project work usually relates to a specific operational issue and is interdisciplinary. It should have both a business and an industry-specific focus. The topic and evaluation of the project work are listed on the diploma.

Further educational opportunities after completing further training (selection)

  • Since 2009, the successfully completed state final examination (state-certified business economist) entitles the holder to study at a university of applied sciences or university ( general university entrance) in all federal states, although this is associated with a consultation at some universities.
  • Some universities in Germany add around 60 credit points to a Bachelor's degree in business administration, which corresponds to a third of the total required credit points. The Department of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg (formerly Hamburg University for Economics and Politics ) recognizes the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the completion of the state-certified business economist notes of the certificate in some subjects without additional examination as exam notes to, which also corresponds to about 60 credit points. The HFH Hamburger Fern-Hochschule offers a shortened bachelor's degree for state-certified business economists and credits a flat rate of 66 credit points; additional credit points can be added if professional experience is provided. The PFH Private Hochschule Göttingen recommends starting the 4th or 5th semester of the Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration . The same applies to other distance learning universities in Germany.
  • For longer, qualified professional experience, some universities in Germany ( Euro-FH ) allow direct entry into a master’s degree without a previous bachelor’s degree. At some English universities (e.g. Liverpool, Cumbria), state-certified business economists can complete a bachelor's degree in business administration in one year and a master's degree in the following year, if they do not want to go straight to a master's degree (M.Sc.).
