The State University of the Far East ( Russian Тихоокеанский государственный университет Tichookeanskij gossudarstvennyj uniwersitet , English Pacific National University , PNU for short ) is a state university in the Russian city of Khabarovsk on the Pacific Ocean .
The university goes back to the Khabarovsk State Pedagogical Institute, which was founded in 1939 and was expanded into a pedagogical college in 1994. In 2005 it was aligned with the State Pedagogical University of Khabarovsk (KSPU). It is an internationally oriented university with university partnerships in the People's Republic of China , in Germany (especially through the Alexander Heart Program with the University of Augsburg and others), Korea , Switzerland and the United States .
