The Stade Francis-Turcan is a football stadium in Martigues , Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France . The home team is FC Martigues . It is named after the former mayor of Martigues Francis Turcan (1912–1968).
At first the stadium had only one grandstand, called Paradis , and a capacity of 3,000 seats. FC Martigues rose to the French premier league in 1993 and the venue was renovated and expanded. The three uncovered spectator tiers Canal , East Stand and the West Stand intended for guests were added and the capacity increased to 11,500 spectators.
The audience record with 11,500 visitors dates back to 2003 when FC Martigues met Paris SG (0-1) in the quarter-finals of the French Cup.
