The Football Club de Martigues is a French football club from Martigues , a small industrial town in the Bouches-du-Rhône department .

history

The association was founded in 1921; Between 1964 and 1973, after a merger of all local sports clubs, it was called Martigues Sport and then took on its old name again. In the 1980s in particular , the FCM was regarded as a kind of "branch" of Olympique Marseille , whose youth and youth players were able to win match practice in the neighboring Martigues.
