The Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium ( Arabic ملعب محمد حملاوي, French Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui , also known as Stade Chahid Hamlaoui ) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Algerian city ​​of Constantine , in the north of the country.

history

After construction began in 1971, the inauguration was celebrated two years later. The then Stade 17 Juin was opened on July 5, 1973 on the eleventh anniversary of Algeria's independence from France . It serves as the home of the CS Constantine and MO Constantine football clubs . After a renovation in 2007 with the complete installation of seats, the capacity of the facility has been greatly reduced. It now has an official capacity of 45,000 spectators, but sometimes the number of spectators exceeds 60,000.

International matches

The Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium has so far hosted eight international matches for the Algerian men's national football team .
