The Ion Oblemenco Stadium ( Romanian Stadionul Ion Oblemenco ) was a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Romanian city of Craiova . It was the home of the football clubs FC Universitatea Craiova and CS Universitatea Craiova .

The facility was built in 1967 as Stadionul Central ( Central Stadium ). It had a capacity of 27,915 spectators. There was only seating. In 1996 the name was changed from the city of Craiova in honor of Ion Oblemenco , a late former player from Universitatea Craiova. In 2002 the wooden benches were replaced by plastic seats.
