Stadthann
A city Hann ( Hungarian városkapitány , Romanian villic ) was in the Transylvanian caste system the name for one of two top officials of the seven chairs , the historic area on the crown land in Transylvania . The first senior official bore the title of royal judge (in some places also city judge or mayor ) and the second usually chair judge (in Bistritz district judge and in Kronstadt Stadthann ). As a rule, they had a few senators at their side, who usually held secondary positions such as the inspectorate of villages , the police department or the township office. The market towns and villages under this jurisdiction had their own neighborhood judges ( Hannen or Dschudje ) and jury.
The term Stadthann was not only used in Kronstadt, but was also in use, for example, in Sibiu , Mediasch , Schäßburg or Mühlbach .
