The Stadtkapelle Öhringen is the oldest music band in the Hohenlohe brass band; it celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2000. Their tradition leads back to the Öhringen town musicians . These town musicians can be documented almost completely from the beginnings of town music in Öhringen in the blow tower of the collegiate church in Öhringen towards the end of the 16th century until today. The musical director and conductor of the town band is still employed by the town of Öhringen.

In 2007 around 50 musicians played in the Öhringen town band. The repertoire includes marching music , light music and high-quality concert band music. Every year there is a concert in the Kultura event hall in Öhringen ( Bläsergala ). Together with musicians from the town band and youth band, a chamber concert is given annually in the Blue Hall of Öhringen Castle . The Stadtkapelle Öhringen regularly organizes children's concerts, in which the musicians introduce children to various musical instruments, composers and works in the form of a commented concert and bring them closer to children.

The town band has a youth band with around 35 young musicians (2007) and two other young orchestras that are run in cooperation with the city of Öhringen's music school .
