The Stadtpark Center Spittal is an inner-city shopping center in Spittal an der Drau , in the Austrian state of Carinthia . It was opened in April 2006 after almost a year of construction and houses 40 shops and restaurants, as well as a Cineplexx cinema.

Origin and description

The shopping center, which was built on a former post office area, is located in Bahnhofstrasse and is triangularly surrounded by the Spittal-Millstättersee train station , the school center and the city park . The construction costs amounted to approx. 30 million euros; The operator is HYPO Stadtpark Center Spittal GmbH. The construction was intended to curb the "wild growth of shops" on the outskirts and to shift purchasing power to the city center. In addition, after new shopping center buildings in Villach ( Atrio ) and Klagenfurt ( City-Arkaden ), appropriate competition should also be created in the Spittal an der Drau district.

The ground floor (level E) and the first floor (level 1) accommodate most of the shops and all restaurants. On level 1 there is also the Cineplexx cinema with four halls that can accommodate up to 540 people. The second floor (level 2) houses the center management, a dental practice and office space. Around 300 parking spaces are available for motor vehicles in an underground car park, which can be used free of charge for customers for 1.5 hours and for cinema-goers for four hours.
