history
The park was laid out as Schlageter Park in 1936 according to plans by city horticultural director Ferdinand Hurtzig , named after Albert Leo Schlageter , who was considered a “martyr of the movement” by the National Socialists . The facility emerged from afforestation on Tröndelbach and was renamed Schwanenseepark II in 1945 , then renamed City Council Hahn Park in 1958 .
City councilor Willy Hahn was city planning officer in Kiel from 1922 and died in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1930. To Hahn's most important works in conjunction with one Leberecht Migge processed green areas and urban plan for Kiel from 1922, which in the course of Kiel green belt has been configured.
