The Günding power station went into operation on December 4, 1897. It was built and operated by Elektrizitätswerke Dachau GmbH, which, through the mediation of Oskar von Miller, was managed by the Dachau citizens Thomas Schwarz (innkeeper), Franz Mondrion (book printer owner - publisher Amperbote), Anton Heidenberger (master locksmith), Thomas Schillinger (master sheep maker), Johann Mergenhagen (master turner) and Otto Christoph (master plumber) was founded on February 3, 1897.

On August 3, 1905, the Dachau market took over Elektrizitätswerke Dachau GmbH in municipal ownership and expanded the Günding power station to include a pumping station in order to ensure and guarantee the water supply for the Dachau market and to significantly improve the water quality. Up to this point in time, the water and extinguishing water supply for the Dachau market was ensured by the state Brunnhaus, located in the area of today's Brunngartenstrasse (today's headquarters of the Dachau municipal utility), by drawing water from the Amper and backwaters. The commissioning of the pumping station at the Günding power station with a central water supply for the Dachau market took place in 1910.

Inner organization

As a municipal company , the Dachau public works form a special fund within the regional authority of the large district town of Dachau . Power generation

In the area of electricity generation, around 55,475 MWh of electricity were generated in 2015 in self-operated plants ( hydropower plants , micro-gas turbines, sewage treatment plants, combined heat and power plants , high-end diesel and photovoltaics ) and through investments. This means that the company's own generation accounts for 32.8 percent.

natural gas

The history of the gas supply in Dachau goes back to 1917. As early as 1907, the Dachau market reached expressions of interest from companies to take over the gas supply in the Dachau market. In a letter dated May 8, 1917, the director of the Pasing gasworks also submitted an offer to supply the Dachau market with gas and to set up a gas distribution network. On June 8, 1917, the magistrate decided to build the gas pipeline to Dachau by the Pasing gasworks in the town of Pasing, which was independent at the time. Due to the competitive situation with the gas works of the state capital Munich and the outbreak of the First World War, however, the work did not start and be carried out.

It was not until 1924 that the town of Pasing informed Dachau's municipal council that, after a stable currency had entered the market and despite the difficult situation on the money market, they would be ready to start building the gas supply network and starting the gas supply. The construction and start of the gas supply was agreed with slight modifications to the gas supply contract that had already been signed in 1917. Between July and November 1925, the gas network was built to supply the market town with gas. At the end of November 1925, the Dachau municipal council asked the Pasing gas works when the gas supply to the Dachau market could now be expected. The start of the gas supply took place at the end of 1925 in the Dachau market.

After the signing of the incorporation agreement between the state capital of Munich and the city of Pasing on January 5, 1938 and the incorporation of the Pasing gas works into the Munich gas works, Dachau's gas supply was now taken over by the Munich gas works.

In 1956, the Munich gas works came to the city of Dachau and requested an amendment to the gas supply contract of April 20, 1918, which was slightly modified in 1924, which was also granted. With the gas supply contract dated November 29, 1982, the gas supply to the city of Dachau by Stadtwerke München was placed on a new contractual basis from January 1, 1983. The new gas supply contract could not be terminated before December 31, 2002 at the earliest.

After the liberalization of the energy market, the city of Dachau made use of this right of termination and tendered the concession agreement and thus the takeover of the gas supply network. The Stadtwerke Dachau then submitted an offer. The local gas supply network was taken over on January 1, 2003 by the Dachau municipal utilities. This was followed by years of legal dispute between Stadtwerke Dachau and Stadtwerke München about the final takeover fee, which was settled on March 2, 2011.

Stadtwerke Dachau has been operating the gas supply network in the area of the city of Dachau with approx. 35.06 km² and in Bergkirchen with 0.09 km² since January 1st, 2003 as distribution network operator (VNB). In the concession areas City of Dachau, GADA (sub-area Bergkirchen municipality) and sub-area Dachau-Süd B471 (sub-area Bergkirchen municipality), they act as a basic supplier in accordance with Section 36 (1) EnWG as an established basic supplier .

water

The water supply is organized under public law (sovereign) through statutes as a municipal facility with connection and use compulsory / connection and use right as well as contributions and fees.

The supply is 100 percent ensured by our own wells. There are three wells in the Günding-Feldgeding area. The pumped water is treated in a water treatment plant located there and pumped to an elevated tank, which is also located in the municipality of Günding. From this elevated tank, which is located approximately at the height of the eaves of the Dachau Castle, the supply area of the Dachau municipal utilities is supplied with water.

In 2015 tariff customers were supplied with 2,212,000 m³ and special customers with 182,000 m³ in the city area. The city of Dachau used 43,000 m³ of water for its own facilities and 45,000 m³ of water were supplied to other municipalities. With a total of 2,620,000 m³ of water extracted / conveyed and an amount of 2,519,000 m³ of water for sale, this leads to a loss of 101,000 m³ of water (loss rate 3.85 percent).

sewage

The wastewater disposal is also organized under public law (sovereign) through statutes as a municipal facility with connection and use compulsory / connection and use right as well as contributions and fees.

The sewage treatment plant is located in the area of Alte Römerstrasse near the municipal boundary between the city of Dachau and Hebertshausen.

In 2015, an annual amount of waste water of 2,125,000 m³ was taken from tariff customers and 180,000 m³ from special customers in the urban area and disposed of. Other municipalities supplied an annual amount of waste water of 1,166,000 m³. With an annual waste water volume of 5,824,000 m³ in total and an invoiced amount of 3,505,000 m³ waste water, this results in an extraneous water share of 32 percent.

Stadtwerke Dachau and its subsidiary DCC Dachau CityCom GmbH, in which they have a 50 percent stake in addition to Komro GmbH Rosenheim, operate a company for the expansion of broadband supply (fiber optic network) in Dachau and the surrounding area to provide supply services in the areas of Internet, telephone, Television and radio.
