Stanley Norwood Doust

Stanley Norwood Doust (born March 29, 1879 in Sydney , † December 13, 1961 in London ) was an Australian tennis player .

Life

Doust was born in Sydney, Newtown , in 1879, the only son of Isaac Doust and his wife, Lucy Ellen. In 1903 he married Dorothy Mary Storer.

From 1907 Doust took part in the Wimbledon Championships . In 1910 he won the (unofficial) mixed competition there alongside Dorothea Douglass-Chamber . In 1913 he reached the final of the All-Comers competition, but lost to the American Maurice McLoughlin . In the same year he won the Davis Cup with the Australian team .

After the First World War , he took part in tournaments until the 1920s. He died in London in 1961.
