The Stadtwerke Eilenburg GmbH (SE) are a regional energy provider in the Saxon town of Eilenburg .

history

Stadtwerke Eilenburg was founded on March 1st, 1996. Initially, they were only responsible for supplying electricity to the plastics center industrial area at the ECW water tower . At the beginning of 1998, the supply of the entire city with gas was one of the company's fields of activity. In the middle of the same year, the company took over the power supply for the entire city. The company is also responsible for street lighting in Eilenburg and the districts of Hainichen , Wedelwitz , Kospa , Pressen , Behlitz and Zschettgau .

Shareholder

The large district town of Eilenburg holds 51 percent of the shares in the company. WEMAG AG Schwerin holds the remaining 49 percent .

In addition to the company's headquarters on Sydowstrasse in Eilenburg, the company also operates a combined heat and power plant in the Kunststoffcenter industrial area at the ECW water tower to generate district heating for this area and some residential areas in Eilenburg-Ost, as well as a natural gas filling station .
