Stallbrüggerfeld is a part of the municipality Filsum in the district of Leer in East Frisia . It is located about 2.6 kilometers northeast of the core town. The village also belongs to Filsum from an ecclesiastical point of view. The residents of Stallbrüggerfeld are part of the Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul parish there. The settlement of Stallbrüggerfeld began in 1773. However, the name of the district is much older. It is first mentioned in 1447 as ad Stalbregghe . The name has been handed down under the stable bridges from 1734 . The current spelling has been official since 1871. The place name is of Frisian origin. It refers to a fixed bridge ( old Frisian stalle = firm , bregge = bridge ). The additional field was added to this later.
