Standing Committee of European Physicians
The Standing Committee of Doctors of the European Union ( Standing Committee of European Physicians (CPME) / Comité Permanent des Médecins Européens - CPME) - also Standing Committee of European Doctors and European Medical Association - is an association of European doctors' organizations based in Brussels , Belgium .

In 1959, the medical organizations of Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy and the Netherlands established the Standing Committee of European Doctors. The aim was and is the common representation of interests in the European Union (EU) in health policy issues. Today the CPME has 29 members, in addition to the interest groups from the EU countries as well as the medical professional organizations from Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.
According to the statutes, the objectives of the CMPE are:
- Promote medical education, practice, health and health care in the European Union
- Promotion of the free movement of doctors within the European Union
According to the statutes, the bodies of the CMPE are:
- the general assembly
- the board of directors
- the executive committee
- the auditor
In 2018 the Executive Committee consists of the President: Jacques de Haller (Switzerland), four Vice-Presidents: Maciej Hamankiewicz (Poland), Anastasios Vasiadis (Greece), Istvan Eger (Hungary), Bernard Maillet (Belgium), the Treasurer Frank Ulrich Montgomery ( Germany) and former President Katrín Fjeldsted.
Secretary General is Annabel Seebohm.

At the General Assembly of the CPME on November 10, 2018 in Geneva, Frank Ulrich Montgomery was elected as the new President for the 2019-2021 term.
