Jacques de Haller

Jacques de Haller (born July 28, 1952 in Geneva ) is a Swiss doctor , association official and politician ( SP ).

Life

In 1978 Jacques de Haller obtained his medical degree and in 1983 became a specialist in general medicine . As a family doctor, he ran a practice in Geneva for 21 years. From 1997 to 2004 de Haller was President of the Swiss Society for General Medicine (SGAM). From 2004 to 2012 he was President of the Association of Swiss Doctors (FMH). In June 2012, de Haller was not re-elected to the central board, so he could not participate in the election for president. He remained in office until December 2012. His successor was Jürg Schlup . In 2015, de Haller was elected chairman of the European medical association Comité Permanent des Médecins Européens Standing (CPME), he will take over the office at the beginning of 2016 for a term of three years.

Miscellaneous

De Haller ran for the National Council in the 2011 elections in the canton of Bern , he was not elected. He is married to Isabelle Graesslé and has two children.
