Stanisław Żmijan

Stanisław Żmijan (born December 13, 1956 in Tarnogród ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ).

Life

Żmijan studied at the Politechnika Lubelska and became a civil and sanitary engineer there in 1980. He then worked as an intern and laboratory assistant at the Lublin Road Construction Office . From 1982 to 1983 he was a student at the Ensign School in Inowrocław . From 1983 Stanisław Żmijan headed the work in the Directorate for Public Roads in Lublin. From 1984 he was deputy director for this area in Włodawa . In 1989 he became director of the Public Roads Office in Międzyrzec Podlaski , in 1992 director of the company for road and bridge construction and in 2000 president of the company. From 1990 to 1998 he was also a member of the Międzyrzec Podlaski City Council. From 1998 to 2001 he sat in the Sejmik of the Lublin Voivodeship . In 2001 he was elected to the Sejm for the first time . In 2005 he was again able to win a seat with 7,708 votes. In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 , he ran in constituency 7 Chełm and won a seat for the Sejm with 17,606 votes. Since 2007 he has been Deputy Chairman of the Commission for Infrastructure and a member of the Commission for Agriculture and Village Development.
