Stanisław Leszczyński (music theorist)

Stanisław Leszczyński (* 1951 ) is a Polish music critic , publicist and music manager .

Life

Leszczyński graduated from the Music Academy in Warsaw with a degree in music theory . From 1979 to 1981 he was head of the classical music department of the state music label Polskie Nagranie . Since 1984 he has been teaching at the Warsaw Music Academy. From 1988 to 1991 he was program advisor to the National Philharmonic and then from 1991 to 1994 director of music recordings at the radio station Polskie Radio , where he co-founded Studio S-1 . In 1995 he co-founded the CD Accord music label. From 1998 to 2003 he was deputy artistic director of the Teatr Wielki - Opera Narodowa in Warsaw. From 2004 to February 2012 he was the deputy director for music education, recordings and concerts at the Narodowy Instytut Fryderyka Chopina .

Leszczyński initiated, edited and published albums Polish musicians like Adam Jarzębski , Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński , Frederic Chopin , Stanislaw Moniuszko , Karol Szymanowski , Krzysztof Penderecki , Witold Lutoslawski with the participation of artists such as Artur Rubinstein , Martha Argerich , Fou Cong , Stanislaw Skrowaczewski , Jerzy Maksymiuk , Marilyn Horne and the 18th Century Orchestra .
