Stanislaw Milski

Stanisław Jan Milski (real name Stanisław Jan Hołyst , born February 8, 1897 in Czchów , Austria-Hungary , † September 4, 1972 in Warsaw ) was a Polish actor and director.

Milski graduated from a ballet school in Poznan, but was unable to continue as a dancer due to an injury. Therefore, he turned to acting and was seen on stage from 1916. From the 1930s he also worked as a director, from 1937 as a speaker and editor for Polish radio in Warsaw. From 1939 to 1941, during the Soviet occupation of Poland, he played in the Polish theater in Vilnius . In 1944/1945 he was a director at the Polish theater in Vilnius. This was followed by stays in Olsztyn (1945/46), Białystok (1946/47) and in 1948 at the classical theater in Warsaw . 1955/56 he was a director in Zielona Góra and from 1955 to 1964 in Gdansk . From 1964 he worked at the theater in Lublin .

He died in Warsaw, his grave is in the Wawer district in the Radość settlement .
