Stanislav Piętak
Stanislav Piętak (born March 18, 1946 in Smilovice ) is a Czech theologian and educationalist. From 2006 to 2011 he was Bishop of the Silesian Evangelical Church AB in the Czech Republic.
Pietak studied at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava and at the Evangelical Theological Academy in Warsaw. From 1992 he headed the Chair of Catechetics of the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Ostrava , until this was converted to the Chair of Social Sciences, which he holds until today (2011). He belongs to the confessional Lutheran wing of his church, which is opposed to a brotherly pietist wing.
From 1995 to 2006 Piętak was pastor of the parish in Třinec , in 2001 he was also the parish administrator in Nebory . Elected to the office of bishop by the synod of his church in November 2006, he took office in January 2007.
Stanislav Pietak is married and has four children.
