The Stanley Peak is a 1,263 m high mountain in Georgia . In the center of the Wilcken chain, it rises at the head of the Fortuna Glacier .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1982 after Lieutenant Commander Ian Stanley (* 1946) of the Royal Navy , who as a helicopter pilot of HMS Antrim on April 21, 1982 in the course of the Falklands War, the rescue of the crews of two people who crashed on the Fortuna Glacier Helicopter.
