Starch , formerly Starch Addition , is a Swiss funk band from Wil SG .

history

Most of the band members got to know each other at the Wattwil Cantonal School. In 2001 the band released their debut album Fresh Funk Movement under the name "Starch Addition" . In 2004 the second album Freak City followed, with which they received airplay on renowned radio stations such as DRS 3. The album Music will follow in 2009 and contains a collaboration with the Biel musician Gustav.

The music group played at the Montreux Jazz Festival and at the St. Gallen Open Air. The Eastern Swiss were also on tour in Australia and Southeast Asia in 2009 and 2011, with the declared aim of playing all over the world.

style

Starch Addition's music was very funky. The music changed more and more, rock and hip-hop elements were woven in. The unmistakable brass sections were retained, however, and the result is music that is difficult to classify.
