The Starr Nunatak is a distinctive nunatak on the Scott coast of East Antarctica, Victoria Land . It rises on the north side of the mouth of the Harbord Glacier in the Ross Sea .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1957 to 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after James W. Starr, steelworker at McMurdo Station between 1966 and 1967, who is also the namesake for Starr Lake .
