Statius Fabricius

Statius Fabricius (* 1591 in Diepenau ; † May 27, 1651 ) was professor of theology at the University of Helmstedt and abbot in the Amelungsborn monastery .

He attended schools in Peine , Minden and Celle . In 1612 he began studying at the University of Helmstedt. He then traveled for several years, serving for three years as court master of the Lüneburg patrician family von Dassel . In 1619 he became court preacher in Delmenhorst . The University of Rinteln awarded him a doctorate in 1621. In 1631 he became general superintendent of the county of Delmenhorst . Finally he became professor of theology at the University of Helmstedt . After the Thirty Years' War he became abbot in Amelungsborn. Most recently he also accepted a position as General Inspector in Halberstadt .

Wilhelm Raabe called him the last abbot of Amelungsborn, although he was unable to develop any effect.
