Staufenstrasse is located in the northern urban expansion area immediately in front of the bridge spanning today's Hermann Piecq facility.
architecture
It is a three-storey plastered building with a gently sloping gable roof . Asymmetrical facade structure with emphasis on the left half of the house by means of a bay - spanning bay window with attached slate helmet roof and weather vane . The dark, recessed basement plinth creates a horizontal structure, which is opened by a basement entrance in the middle and a rectangular window on the right .
The vertical emphasis is given by two pilasters surrounding the wall surface of the upper floors . With the exception of the first floor window, all windows in the house are uniformly rectangular and only vary in width. The deeply cut entrance niche , which ends at right angles, is flanked on the left by a round arched window divided into three by pillars and varying the Palladi motif . The first and second floors each have a single vertical rectangular window on the right; three narrower windows each have the cantilevered bay window on the left. A comparatively rich stucco ornamentation based on the forms of Art Nouveau and Baroque stands out from the otherwise smooth plastered facade and emphasizes all window and door openings. The bay window supported by pointed consoles is particularly richly decorated with cartouches and vegetal tendrils .
The protection is based on urban planning and architectural-historical reasons.
