Kilian Ponds
The Kilian ponds were a reservoir cascade in the middle Lower Harz near Straßberg in Saxony-Anhalt . The system belongs to the Unterharzer water shelf .

The cascade consisted of three reservoirs . The colonel has been preserved. The dams of the other three were removed in 1989. At this point, two dams were broken and the remaining ones were in poor condition. The lower ponds have been flooded by the Kiliansteich dam since 1994 .
Upper Kiliansteich
The pond was built 1703–1704 under the direction of Georg Christoff von Utterodt . In the course of the construction of the Kiliansteich dam, the Obere Kiliansteich was expanded as a pre-dam.
Middle Kiliansteich
The pond was built in 1703 under the direction of Georg Christoff von Utterodt. The dam broke during floods in 1944 and was never rebuilt. In the course of the construction of the Kiliansteich dam, the pond was finally abandoned and the remains of the dam removed.
Kiliansteich III
The first documentary mention, together with the Upper Rödelbachgraben , comes from the year 1610. At that time the pond was already in existence.
The pond lay between the middle and lower Kilian pond. The dam was lower than that of the lower Kilian pond. It can be assumed that the dam was removed when the reservoir cascade was built, as it can be proven that it consisted of only three ponds. The dam was a rubble dam . The water level was at 426 m above sea level when it was fully dammed, the length of the reservoir was 200 meters.
In the course of the construction of the Kiliansteich dam, the remains of the dam were removed and the old pond was flooded by the dam.
Lower Kiliansteich
The lower Kiliansteich was the lowest pond of the reservoir cascade. The pond dam broke in 1901 and was not rebuilt.
