The Bieberstein der Wiehl reservoir is located between Reichshof -Brüchermühle and Wiehl- Remperg near Gummersbach in the Oberbergischer Kreis . This reservoir is a meeting point for anglers and hikers. It is used to generate electricity and as a compensation pond. A bulb turbine generates around 0.8 million kWh of electricity annually. The main body of the weir is designed as a triangular concrete sleeper with a fish belly flap attached . The dam is an earth dam with an internal clay core seal. The dam is operated by the Aggerverband.
The Bieberstein reservoir is home to many different types of fish. Including brown trout , eels , pikeperch , sticklebacks , carp , tench and rainbow trout (which are regularly used here). Due to the rich fish population, the reservoir has become a popular destination for anglers, but guest anglers can only fish from the south side.
