The Stay Away Skerries (English for Stay-away-archipelago ) are a group of cliff rocks and low reefs in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located 2.5 km south of Cape Monaco off the southwest coast of Anvers Island
A Royal Navy hydrographic unit carried out its surveys between 1956 and 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them that way in 1959 because their shallows pose a threat to shipping .
