Stefan Baley

Stefan Baley (born February 4, 1885 in Borki Wielkie near Tarnopol , † September 13, 1952 in Warsaw ) was a Polish psychologist , doctor and educator . He is assigned to the Lviv-Warsaw School . Baley was a member of the Polska Akademia Nauk and a non-fiction author.

Life

Baley came from a family of teachers. After graduating from high school in Tarnopol in 1903 it studied psychology and philosophy at the University of Lemberg , a. a. with Kazimierz Twardowski . In 1911 he received his doctorate in psychology. He then worked as a high school teacher in Lviv . He then studied psychology in Paris and Berlin and from 1917 to 1923 medicine in Lviv and obtained his doctorate in medicine in Warsaw in 1923 . Until 1927 he worked in the Lviv psychiatric hospital. In 1928 he became a professor at Warsaw University, where he headed the Institute of Psychology. During the Second World War he taught at the Warsaw Underground University and worked as a doctor in psychiatric and children's hospitals. After the war he worked at the universities in Warsaw and Łódź .
