Stefan Dokoupil
Stefan Dokoupil (born June 16, 1970 in Amstetten , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian photographer . Dokoupil mainly deals with fashion and advertising photography .
Life
Before he started taking photos, Stefan Dokoupil worked as a cameraman for various film productions and TV stations in Germany from 1998, such as Yellow Sunshine, Kabel 1, Pro 7, RTL, RTL2, ZDF and ARD. After the decline of the Kirch empire , he returned to Austria, where he started filming for the Upper Austrian private television broadcaster LT1, the Salzburg private television broadcaster Salzburg TV (today: Servus TV ) and the ORF TV program. In 2006 he began to acquire the necessary knowledge for photography as an autodidact, in 2008 he went public with his first exhibition under the motto “The Seven Deadly Sins” . In the same year the internationally acclaimed “ Clone Eva ” art project was created with the pencil draftsman and naturalist John Wieser. Stefan Dokoupil has also been a workshop leader since 2008. Dokoupil is one of the leading hair and hairstyle photographers in German-speaking countries.
Numerous publications and front pages in various magazines followed, such as Photography, DOCMA, Stern / View, Fotozeitschrift, Stark Magazin and Penthouse , etc. a. with US R'n'B star Truth Hurts and Brigitta Cimarolli . In 2012 the photos for the “Mozart Project” were taken in collaboration with Roman Gregory , which caused controversial reactions, as well as the photos for the Alkbottle CD “Forever”. In October 2012, Stefan Dokoupil worked as a speaker and workshop leader at the “ Image Days ” in Salzburg, a one-off event organized by the Salzburger Nachrichten. Since 2013 Dokoupil has been represented and listed in Lürzer's archive "200 best Ad Photographers worldwide". In 2013 Dokoupil founded Dokoupilphoto limited in London, where he lives and runs a studio.
In 2014 he started the fashion week European Tour, during which he tours the capitals of Europe with hairdressers, stylists and models.
In January 2018 the fashion week European Tour 2018 was relaunched. Cities such as London, Paris, Vienna, Milan, Berlin and Barcelona are on the tour schedule.
In January 2016, Dokoupil criticized the Austrian politician HC Strache with an "angry speech" on his Facebook page. That triggered a shit storm against Dokoupil after Strache published the post on his fan page. The lifestyle and youth magazine Vice published an interview with Dokoupil in which he commented on the events. In 2017, Dokoupil was commissioned by the Salzburg State Theater to help design the stage for Frank Wedekind's play Lulu . He photographed Lulu ( Nikola Rudle ). The picture was integrated into the stage design in the size 2 by 3 meters above the stage.

Awards
- First place in the competition for the art exhibition "Natura 2008" in Altenmarkt.
- He was one of the winners of the "DOCMA Awards 2008".
- In 2011, Dokoupil won the Hairdressing Award in the Avantgarde, Color and Newcomer categories in cooperation with the Linz star hairdresser Alex Lepschi.
