Stefan Engstfeld (born January 5, 1970 in Duisburg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). He was between 2010 and 2017 and has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia again since 2018 .

Engstfeld grew up in Ratingen. After graduating from high school , he did community service at the University Hospital in Düsseldorf . He broke off studying social sciences at the University of Duisburg-Essen in order to then work as a personal assistant in the NRW state parliamentary group of the Greens and from 2007 in the parliamentary group of his party. In 2010 he was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament, in the early state parliament election in 2012 he moved in again via the state list of his party and was a member of the state parliament until May 21, 2017. From 2012 until his departure he was deputy chairman of the parliamentary group. On May 12, 2018, Engstfeld replaced Barbara Steffens as a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament.

On January 21, 2020, the members of the Greens Düsseldorf nominated Engstfeld as a candidate for the mayoral election 2020 in Düsseldorf.

Stefan Engstfeld is married to Kerstin Jäckel-Engstfeld , the former head of the Office for Communication of the City of Düsseldorf.
