Kerstin Jäckel-Engstfeld , b. Jäckel , (born November 27, 1973 in Hilden ) is a German journalist . From 2014 to 2018 she was press spokeswoman for the city of Düsseldorf .

biography

Kerstin Jäckel studied political science , sociology and economics at the University of Duisburg . From 1997 to 1998 she was a freelancer for the Neue Rhein Zeitung (NRZ). From 1999 to 2000 she graduated from the Axel Springer School of Journalism in Hamburg . Until July 2001 she worked in the main politics department of the nationwide edition of the Bild newspaper, then editor of the magazine BIZZ Capital ( Gruner + Jahr ) until it was hired in January 2002.

Jäckel worked for the Illustrierte Bunte ( Hubert Burda Media ) until 2010, where she was deputy editor-in-chief from December 2004, and from 2005 editor-in-chief of the Berlin office. She then became Vice-General Manager of Bild NRW and Vice-Editor-in-Chief of Bild Düsseldorf. On June 1, 2010, Jäckel took over the political department of the tabloid Bild ( Axel Springer AG ) from Georg Streiter , who left the company at the end of 2009. She was head of the department until June 2011. From summer 2011 she worked for Bild NRW, most recently as chief reporter for politics / economics.

In October 2014, the Mayor of Düsseldorf, Thomas Geisel (SPD), announced that Kerstin Jäckel would become head of the Office for Communication in the state capital of Düsseldorf. In the following December she took up her new office and held it until the end of June 2018.

Kerstin Jäckel-Engstfeld is married to the politician Stefan Engstfeld ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).
