Stefan Hofmann

Stefan Hofmann (born June 14, 1963 in Guntersblum ) is a German football teacher and sports official . Since January 2018 he has been the club and board chairman of the sports club 1. FSV Mainz 05 .

Career

In the 2003/04 season, Hofmann briefly coached the Southwest Oberligisten Hassia Bingen and Eintracht Bad Kreuznach . In 2005 the soccer teacher joined 1. FSV Mainz 05 . Here he coached the B and A youth teams of the club and was the sports director of the youth training center for over ten years until summer 2017 .

After Johannes Kaluza resigned , Hofmann was elected chairman of the association and board of directors of Mainz 05 at an extraordinary general meeting in January 2018. He continues his full-time job as head of department in the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry for Science, Further Education and Culture and receives a corresponding allowance from Mainz 05.

Hofmann is married, has two children and lives in Schornsheim in Rhine-Hesse . He is also the chairman of the Mainz 05 charity organization , which is organized by those responsible for the 1. FSV Mainz 05.
